The study aims to identify the factors that affect lowland rice production, analyze efficiency of using production farming, and calculate farmers’ income farming in Balige Sub-district Toba Samosir Regency. research was conducted Hutagaol Peatalun Village Hinalang Bagasan with 64 respondents. Farmer respondents were chosen a simple random sampling method. collected data analyzed by Cobb-Douglas function, economic analysis calculating returm scale value, farmer analysis. results showed affected land size, seeds, NPK fertilizer, pesticide, labour. use not efficient because it classified increasing return scale. earned farmers over total cost IDR24,636,334.99 R/C value 3.89 profitable. Key words: efficiency, income, rice.
